Back to Family

Both knees had been bone-on-bone for years, and the cost was measured in declined invitations — the zoo trips, the park afternoons, the vacations that involved walking.

The plan was staged: the worse knee first, rehabilitation to strength, then the second four months later. Same-day walking after each, and a rehab program she attacked like a job.

Seven months after the first operation she hiked with her grandchildren — her word for it is 'reintroduced': to the family schedule, and to the version of herself that says yes.

Shared with the patient's written consent. Individual results vary — every recovery depends on the condition, the procedure, and the person.
